Over the past year, my evergreen course has brought in $49,893 (rounded up for a whole number). In this blog, I'm going to delve into three key aspects of this journey:
- The History of the Offer: Understanding what it truly takes to create an evergreen course that sells continuously in the background.
- Breaking Down the Numbers: A detailed look at where the sales came from.
- Essential Strategies for Evergreen Course Success: Key tactics you need to implement to generate income from an evergreen course.
The History of the Offer
The journey began in June 2023 when I launched the course live. This live teaching phase provided valuable insights and feedback, which I used to refine the course content. By October, November, and December of 2023, the course was transformed into an evergreen format and launched live during these months. In December, I transitioned the course into an evergreen funnel, allowing it to sell through promotional content since then.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Here's a breakdown of the revenue generated:
- $6,720 came from teaching the course live.
- $13,041 was earned during the live launches of the evergreen course.
- $30,132.60 resulted from evergreen sales, steadily coming in the background.
An interesting trend emerged in the data (see attached photo): sales numbers generally decreased, except for a noticeable spike in April. We'll discuss this further in the strategies section, but it's important to note that these fluctuations are not necessarily indicative of a problem with the course.
Essential Strategies for Evergreen Course Success
-
Master Content That Converts:
- A large audience is not necessary for making sales. When I launched the live version of the course, my audience consisted of around 3,000 subscribers on YouTube, 1,500 followers on Instagram, and 1,500 email subscribers.
- The content must go beyond simple tips and tricks; it should provide substantial value and lead the audience toward a purchase decision.
- Understanding how to create content that converts is crucial before investing in ads. A larger audience doesn't automatically translate to more sales.
-
Master Live Launching:
- Directly sending people to an offer may work for physical products, but in digital products, the sales process needs more nurturing.
- Successfully selling a product live can provide invaluable experience and insights, helping you understand your audience better and refine your sales tactics. This experience is transferable to evergreen sales strategies, whether through videos or sales pages.
-
Data-Driven Decisions and Patience:
- Collect and analyze data over time. Make small, trackable adjustments rather than large, rash changes.
- It's easy to misinterpret data, such as a temporary dip in sales, as a sign that something is wrong. For example, while sales numbers decreased in recent months (except April), the conversion rate actually increased. This means that a higher percentage of people who saw the course ended up buying it.
Exciting Announcement: Mastermind Group Launching This Fall
